I grew up in New Zealand so I’ve only visited my grandmother 2 times. Recently I found out she grew up in this neighbourhood, Right in the heart of Edinburgh! between the Grassmarket in the foreground and up to the Royal Mile.
20 families in one tenement. My nana and the other kids used the castle esplanade to play games on! Hard to imagine that now! This will be right in the heart of the fringe festival over the coming months.
