Gdansk in Pictures

At first I thought I would write about the beauty of Gdansk. Instead here are some photos, see it for yourself!

One of the many picturesque streets of Gdansk, ending with Europe’s largest brick church.
For 6 zlotys you can climb up the inside of the church tower
On top of St Mary’s Church. After 400 steps the view is all yours!
The buildings in Gdansk are incredible
The unusually shaped building is the Zuraw Crane. Built between 1442 and 1444 the crane hangs over the river where it was used to erect ship masts. The crane was powered by men walking inside the two large internal wheels. apparently it is still in working order!
The main road of the old town. Ending with the golden gate. Napoleon himself liked the gate so much that he tried to have packed up and taken to Paris.
Enter a captionThe local market near where we stayed
The ceiling of an old printing house – turned cafe. Appropriately named Drukarnia. We had coffee here regularly. Really friendly people!

I'm a Carpenter from New Zealand. I completed a Carpentry apprenticeship and decided to build something on every continent. I started this blog so I could share the journey with people!
